Volunteers (still) Needed

A parade in about 1917
A hospital or war effort parade - thought to be 1917/18

General
The original project which ran on a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund ended with the launch of the Society's DVD in April 2007. However, the work of the website carries on. Many people have contacted us with new photos and information, and yet there is still so much left to cover. To ensure that the website continues to expand and include more features and stories, we still need volunteers Would you like to be one of them?

We need people who would be interested in:

  • Researching Topics
  • Interviewing People
  • Collating Information
  • Writing and Transcribing Articles and Stories for the site
  • Scanning and Preparing Images for the web pages
  • Producing the pages and linking them to make up completed sections
All we need from you is your time, your interest, and a willingness to learn new skills if you need to. Colleagues are here to support you. The website production group meets at the Heritage Museum, Civic Centre on Wednesday evenings from 7.00 - 9.00pm, why not come along, see what we are doing and decide whether this is something you'd like to have a go at.

Alternatively, you can e-mail us using the link at the top or bottom of this page, or call in at the Heritage Museum in the Civic Centre building - it is manned every Thursday and Saturday from 10.00 until 1.00 during exhibitions.

We look forward to hearing from you.
