STARGATE will be on at Burton Latimer cinema tomorrow despite a £5,000 burglary.

All the sound equipment was stolen in a burglary at the Ohio, in High Street, but the owner is determined not to give up.

Brian McFarlane, who owns Burton Latimer and Kettering cinemas, has rented new sound equipment and says the show will go on.

He is charging low prices to compete with multi-screen cinemas.

Brian re-opened the cinema in October last year after a closure of six years.

And the projection room still looks like something out of the 1930s, when the cinema was first opened.

Burton Ohio has new management and people are visiting the cinema from across the county.

It is open seven nights a week, with weekend matinees, and there's plenty of popcorn, sweets and drinks too.
