The Parade & Gala was one of Burton Latimer's most popular events in the 50s and early 60s, with a large number of entrants in most categories.

The 1953 Parade was held on Saturday 18th July. Entrants assembled at the Recreation Ground at 1:45 then proceeded along William St, Station Rd, Kettering Rd, High Street, Finedon St, Alexandra St, Duke St, back on to the High St, along Pioneer Ave and finished at the Recreation Ground. This was then followed by a series of Gala events which began at 5:00 and a torchlight procession at 9:45
