Farewell to farmer

Funeral procession of Robin Attfield with 1904 hearse drawn by two Belgian horses.
The family of the late farmer Robin Attfield arranged a special send-off for him. A 1904 English hearse and two black Belgian horses took part in his funeral procession in Burton Latimer yesterday.
Mr Attfield, 65, died of a heart attack at Windmill Farm, off Church Street, on April 14.
He started work on the family farm straight from school.
He leaves a wife, Betty, children Susan, 37, David, 33, and Rachael 30, and three grandchildren.
They organized the special procession because of his life-long love of shire horses and eventing.
Mr Attfield was a member of the Northants County Cricket Club.
His funeral took place at Burton Latimer Parish Church followed by a private internment.
