We apologise for the site's inactivity prior to December. This was due to a hardware accident which meant that all the summer's additions needed to be restored. An alernative to the now unsupported Adobe GoLive is being sourced as the group's website development application.   • 01.07.2015 - The almost forgotten story of Burton Latimer's early 20th century Passive Resisters is told here in the Education pages.
  • 17.06.2015 - News of a serious assault upon a local gamekeeper was reported in the Northampton Mercury in 1862. An article detailing the case, including the appearence in court of a stuffed dog "accidently shot while in possession of the police" can be found here in the Crime pages. "A noteworthy performance" - an assessment of the business conducted at the first ever Parish Council meeting in January 1885 is here in the History - Local Government pages
  • 10.06.2015 - "Tank Range to Farm Production" is how a 1946 article here in the Agriculture Section described the change of use of farmland at Wold Farm, once owned by the War Office, and the training of ex-servicemen there. In the same section are details of a farmer and an official coming to blows about farm efficiency in 1942 here. An incident involving a priest masquerading as a pedlar is here in the Churches Section. A Commission's inquiry into Burton Latimer Grammar School in 1869 is in the Education Section here and James Bailey's farm accident is here

  • 14.05.2015 - Reports of a fatal motor cycle accident in 1927 and Feast Week activities in 1897 have also been added. The list of curates has been updated and new names added to the Class 4 1951-2 photo

  • 20.03.2015 - Marretje and Ina (Elisabeth and Sarah Wittering) have contacted us from the Netherlands to add to the Meadowside Infant school information and say they would love to see more from the late 1970s and early 80s - has anyone any more photos hidden away? More information about Police Sergeant George Thurlow has been added here and an amusing news snippet here
  • 12.03.2015 - Details of the provision of the 'New' Parish Burial Ground in Church Lane have been added by Margaret Jones here. Bill Johnson has provided some names for St Mary's Infant School classes between 1975 and 1977 here. Thanks to Roger Drage and Michael Cox, a 2008 map has been added to the interactive maps on the History & Development of Burton Latimer page here
  • 26.02.2015 - The Infant Welfare parties of 1935 and 1936 and an account of a meeting in 1917 setting up the Welfare Clinics have been added here and additions made to the Belgian Refugees page

A cast list from the 1957 production "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" presented by the Youth of St Mary's Mission Church, can be found by clicking here. This is the consequence of holidays and illness among our three inputters, computer problems and work connected with the new exhibition at the Heritage Museum.
