Will of William Allen

March 23rd Anno domini 1626


In the name of God Amen I William Allen of Burton Latymer in the countie of Northampton , Stocking seller being sicke in bodie but of perfect understanding and memorie, God be thanked therefore. Doe ordaine this my last will & testament in maner &  forme following. Imprimis I bequeath my soule into the hands of allmightie God my maker & redeemer &  my body to the ground to  be buryed in the Churchyard of Burton aforesaid.

Item I give unto my daughter Anne the summe of twentie markes of lawfull English money to be payd to her at the age of one & twenty yeares & yf the said Anne die before the sayd tearme of one & twentie yeares then my will is that the said twentie markes shalbe given and payd to my Brother Thomas Allen of Quaries? in the countie of Leicester, Miller &  to his children being then surviveing.

Item I give to John Sheapheard my wyves sonne the summe of fortie shillings to be payd him at the age of one & twentie yeares.

Item I give to Alice Sheaphard my wyves oldest daughter fortie shillings to be payd to her at the age of one & twentie yeares.

Item I give to Elizabeth Sheapheard my wives youngest daughter fortie shillings to be payd her at the age of one & twentie yeares.

Item I give to the poor of Burton Latymer aforesaid the sum of five shillings.

The rest of my goods unbequeathed, my debts, legacies & funeral expences discharged, I give to Dorothie my wyfe whom I make my sole executrix of this my last will & testament. In witness whereeof I have hereunto set my hand & seale the day & yeare above written.
