Church Anniversary
Burton Latimer Baptist Church in 2006

Burton Latimer Baptists are celebrating their 215th church anniversary this weekend with a supper and social on Saturday and a visit by the Rev. V.C. Evans, Rushden, who will preach on Sunday.

The church was established in 1744 under the leadership of a Mr. John Yeomans who was a carpenter and grazier.  The house in which he lived still stands at the end of Meeting Lane , Burton Latimer and the front part of the chapel is the original structure.

In the early days, the chapel was called the Baptist Meeting House, hence the name Meeting Lane.
